The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) has approved SJVN Limited’s detailed project reports (DPRs) for two hydroelectric projects (HEPs) worth around Rs 400 billion in Arunachal Pradesh.
The CEA has transferred concurrences of these DPRs and has additionally prolonged the validity of the aforementioned concurrences. The projects include Etalin HEP (3,097 MW), and Attunli HEP (680 MW). The Etalin HEP is the largest HEP under development in the country. As of March 2022, the project cost for the Etalin HEP stands at Rs 328.13 billion, while the project cost for the Attunli HEP is Rs 68.66 billion. Both projects have a levelised tariff of Rs 4.51 per unit.
Recently, in October 2023, the CEA instructed 20 renewable energy projects, which were granted provisional or conditional connection approvals, to provide reports confirming their adherence to regulatory standards.
