SGEL and Ocean Sun sign MoU in clean energy space

In an advancement under the India-Norway task force for energy, SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL) has signed a MoU with Ocean Sun, Norway. This joint initiative is dedicated to the advancement of emerging technologies within the clean energy sector.

According to the MoU, SGEL will undertake the development and funding of a trial floating solar project using membrane technology at a suitable site in India. The project is estimated to have a capacity of around 2 MW. Additionally, Ocean Sun will provide patented technological assistance for this specific project.

The MoU signifies a significant stride in sharing technological expertise and collaboration between the two nations, promoting international cooperation. The completion of the pilot project will pave the way for extensive utilisation of this innovative technology across the southern coastline of India. This endeavor signifies a substantial contribution toward ensuring round-the-clock power availability for all people.

Recently, in October 2023, SGEL issued a tender for manufacturing and supplying solar modules of 1,465 MWp for solar projects across India.

In the same month, SGEL issued a tender for setting up grid-connected solar projects with a cumulative capacity of 18 MW across Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
