NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has issued a request for proposals (RfPs) for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of 650 MW grid-connected solar projects. The projects will be located at Bikaner, Rajasthan.
According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work under the project includes topographical surveys, geotechnical studies, and site grading and clearing. It also includes the layout, building, and installation of the foundations as well as the tracker-based module mounting structures for the PV solar panels. The work also encompasses obtaining a power and water supply for construction, building inverter rooms, and performing related electrical and civil work for grid connection. An integral part of the project involves power evacuation, extending up to the 33 kV main pooling switchgear at the owner’s pooling substation. The bid submission deadline is December 12, 2023.
To be eligible, the bidders must possess prior expertise in the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of grid-connected solar PV power plants with a combined installed capacity of at least 40 MWp. It is required that a minimum of one of these plants have a capacity of 10 MWp or more and have been operating successfully for at least six months.
Recently, in October 2023, NTPC Limited and Engineers India Limited signed a MoA that permits NETRA, the research and development center of NTPC in order to facilitate the transition to clean energy.
In the same month, NTPC Limited issued RfPs for commissioning a 56 MW floating solar project at NTPC’S north Karanpura thermal power station in Jharkhand.
