AESL commissions transmission project for evacuation of 2.5 GW of renewable energy

Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL) has successfully commissioned the Karur transmission project for the evacuation of 2,500 MW of energy from clean sources. The project is located in Karur/Tiruppur wind energy zone of Tamil Nadu. The project involves the establishment of a 400/230 kV, 1,000 MVA pooling station and a corresponding transmission line that covers a distance of 8.51 circuit kms.

In addition to strengthening the southern regional grid and promoting the large-scale integration of renewable energy sources, the project will enhance industrial, commercial, and residential consumers’ access to clean, reliable electricity. In December 2021, AESL won the project under the tariff-based competitive bidding route for a period of 35 years. The project will be developed on the basis of a build, own, operate model.

Recently, In August 2023, Mundra Solar Energy announced the commissioning of its 2 GW solar cells and modules manufacturing facility. The facility is situated in Mundra, Gujarat.

In May 2023, Adani Wind Energy Kutchh Five Limited inaugurated a 130 MW wind power plant in Gujarat, Kutch.
