SECI floats tender for 2 GW wind-solar hybrid projects

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued request for proposals (RfPs) for setting up 2,000 MW of inter-state transmission system (ISTS) connected wind-solar hybrid projects under tranche VII. The projects will be developed on the basis of build, own, and operate model.

According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work under the project includes identification of land, installation, projects ownership, as well as getting required approvals and ISTS connectivity. The developer will be responsible for the development of these projects, along with transmission network till the delivery point. The bid submission deadline is December 4, 2023.

Additionally, the minimum and maximum capacity for each project has been set at 50 MW and 1,000 MW, respectively. The projects must be completed within 24 months post signing of the PPA. The winning bidder is required to sign a power purchase agreement with SECI for a period of 25 years. Furthermore, the SECI has mandated the use of indigenously manufactured solar modules listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers. Additionally, under the tender, only wind-turbine models listed in Revised list of Models and Manufacturers will be allowed.

Recently, in October 2023, SECI issued RfPs for appointment of solar power developers to develop ISTS-connected 1,000 MW solar projects under tranche XII in India.

In September 2023, SECI issued RfPs for setting up ISTS-connected 1,260 MW renewable projects, with energy storage systems throughout India.
