Gensol Engineering bags 62 MW solar EPC project from MAHAGENCO

Gensol Engineering Limited has secured a grid-connected 62 MW AC solar photovoltaic project from Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MAHAGENCO). The project has been valued at Rs 3.02 billion. The project will be located at Akola district of Maharashtra.

Gensol will oversee the conceptualisation, engineering, provisioning, installation, testing, and commissioning of the project utilising crystalline PV technology. This project is being set up as part of the “Flexibility in Generation of Thermal Power Station through Bundling with Renewable Energy” scheme. In addition to constructing the solar PV plant, the company will also be responsible for developing the necessary high-tension overhead transmission lines or underground cables, along with supplying all the required electrical equipment. Furthermore, the company will offer operations and maintenance support for the project and the associated power evacuation system for a period of five years. The project is slated to be completed within 12 months.

In March 2023, Gensol Engineering Limited acquired Pune-based solar tracker specialist Scorpius Trackers for Rs 1.35 billion.

In February 2023, Gensol Engineering Limited received purchase orders for over 247 MWp of solar power capacity across eleven states. These projects would be developed in Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal by the company.
