The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued a request for proposals (RfPs) for appointment of solar power developers to develop inter-state transmission system (ISTS) connected 1,000 MW solar projects, tranche XII. The project will be situated in India.
According to the tender guidelines, the bidders are required to furnish an earnest money deposit equaling Rs 928,000 per MW. Before the signing of a power purchase agreement (PPA), the bidders are also required to submit Rs 2.32 million per MW as a performance bank guarantee. The bid submission deadline is November 20, 2023. Furthermore, the SECI will sign a PPA with the developer for a period of 25 years. The SECI will purchase the power and supply it to different organisations in India. Additionally, the project must be commissioned within 24 months of the PPA being signed. The bidders can offer a minimum and a maximum capacity of 50 MW and 500 MW.
The bidders will be responsible for land identification, project installing, ownership acquiring, as well as for obtaining necessary approvals and ISTS connectivity. Furthermore, the SECI has mandated the use of indigenously manufactured solar modules listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers.
In September 2023, SECI issued RfP for setting up ISTS connected 1,260 MW renewable projects, with energy storage systems throughout India.
In August 2023, SECI floated a tender for setting up ISTS connected renewable energy projects including energy storage systems for a capacity of 800 MW.
