SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL) has announced that it has bagged a letter of award for 100 MW solar power project from Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (RUVNL). The project has been won under tariff-based competitive bidding process at a tariff of Rs 2.62 per unit. The project will be situated in Rajasthan and will be set up on the basis of build, own, operate model.
The estimated cost of the project is Rs 6 billion. SGEL and RUVNL will sign the purchase power agreement (PPA) for a period of 25 years. The project has been slated to be completed within 18 months of the PPA being signed. In the first year, the project is projected to produce approximately 252 million units (MUs) of energy, and the total energy generation over the span of 25 years is estimated to reach around 5,866 MUs. Additionally, RUVNL aims to decrease carbon emissions by 287,434 tonnes upon the completion of this project.
In September 2023, SJVN Limited issued a request for proposals for developers to set up inter-state transmission system connected 1,500 MW wind-solar hybrid projects in India.
In August 2023, SGEL bagged an order from by Assam Power Distribution Corporation Limited to set up three solar power plants with cumulative capacity of 320 MW in Assam.
