MSPGCL issues EPC tender for 600 MW solar project

Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MSPGCL) has issued a request for proposals for engineering, procurement, and construction package with land for grid-connected 600 MW AC ground-mounted solar photovoltaic projects as a part of renewable energy bundling scheme. The projects will be situated across Maharashtra.

According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work under the project includes designing, engineering, manufacturing, supplying, erection, inspecting, installing, testing, and commissioning of the solar power projects, including the relevant power evacuation system up to state transmission utility substation of 33 kV or more. Furthermore, the bidders are required to submit Rs 100,000 per MW AC as an earnest money deposit. The winning bidder will be required to look after operations and maintenance for a period of three years. Within seven days of receiving the letter of award, the developer is required to furnish performance bank guarantee equaling 10 per cent of the total contract value.

The bidders are required to offer a minimum capacity of 50 MW AC and can propose a maximum capacity of up to 300 MW AC. Furthermore, the project must have a minimum capacity of 50 MW AC at a single location.

In June 2023, SJVN Limited signed a MoU with MSPGCL for the development of 5,000 MW renewable energy projects in Maharashtra.

In August 2022, MSPCL initiated bidding to develop an aggregate 600 MW (AC) of solar power projects.
