Envision Energy has secured a contract from JSW Energy to set up a wind energy park of 653.4 MW capacity in Karnataka and Maharashtra. Under the agreement, Envision Energy will supply 198 units of EN 156-3.3 MW wind turbine generators (WTGs). The project is anticipated to be completed in phases by the end of 2024. Additionally, the project is expected to generate 2,200 GWh of green power, expediting India’s progress towards attaining its net-zero emissions objectives.
Envision has invested approximately Rs 5 billion in India and generated over 2,000 direct and indirect job opportunities in the country. The company’s collaboration with JSW Energy is set to play a crucial role in expanding the renewable energy capacity in the states of Karnataka and Maharashtra. Envision’s WTGs will enhance India’s wind energy sector, featuring a rotor diameter of 156 meters, a hub height of 140 meters, and a rated capacity of 3.3 MW. These WTGs are designed to operate effectively in the Indian wind regime.
In June 2023, Envision Energy signed a 350 MW wind energy contract with Serentica Renewables. The project would be established in Maharashtra and is anticipated to be operational by December 2024.
In April 2022, Envision Energy received a 2,000 MW wind turbine order in India. All 596 wind turbines would be manufactured in Envision’s India factory and would be delivered by the end of 2023.
