NLC India bags 810 MW solar project in Rajasthan

NLC India Limited (NLCIL) has bagged an 810 MW solar power project at a rate of Rs 2.64 per kWh. The project has been won in an auction held by Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam (RRVUNL) in December 2022. The project is a part of RRVUNL’s 2,000 MW Ultra Mega Solar Park located in Bikaner district of Rajasthan. NLC India has already received the letter of intent for the project. RRVUNL will provide the land as well as power evacuation system linked to the State Transmission Utility for the project.

Additionally, total capacity of NLC India’s power projects will reach 1.36 GW in Rajasthan, with 1.1 GW of clean power, post this project’s commissioning. The project has been anticipated to produce more than 50 billion units of clean power, reducing carbon emissions by more than 50,000 tonnes.

In September 2023, NLCIL issued a request for proposal for the balance of system package for 600 MW grid-connected solar projects at Khavda, Gujarat.

In August 2023, NLCIL issued request for proposal to purchase solar modules of 70.5 MW capacity for a project set up on the mined-out land in Neyveli (Mine-II area), Tamil Nadu.
