FTC Solar obtains tracker contract for 225 MW project in Nebraska

FTC Solar, a Solar tracking systems maker, has been chosen to provide its tracking technology for the 225 MW Butler County solar project being built by Sandhills Energy LLC in Nebraska. Additionally, the photovoltaic park is going to be fitted using FTC Solar’s Pioneer 1P solar tracker technology which will be built near Columbus.

Furthermore, no information about the order’s value has been provided. The delivery of trackers for the Butler County solar project is scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2024. FTC Solar received the purchase order for this project in September 2023.

In April 2023, Masdar concluded the purchase of a 50 per cent interest in EDF Renewables North America’s solar and battery storage project. Located in California, the Big Beau project includes a 128 MW alternating current photovoltaic solar plant and a 40 MW/160MWh battery energy storage system. The two had agreed to develop three utility-scale wind projects in Nebraska and Texas with 815 MW, and five solar projects in California with 689 MW, of which two included BESS facilities with a 75 MW capacity.
