RES, Mirova and Octopus Renewables have launched the 85.8 MW Rödene wind farm in the Alingsås municipality in Västra Götaland county, Sweden. Reportedly, RES constructed and will operate the wind farm, which is owned by Mirova, a subsidiary of Natixis Investment Managers and Octopus Renewables.
The project comprises 13 Siemens Gamesa wind turbines and has the capacity to power 40,000 homes while mitigating 230,000 tonnes of carbon emissions yearly. Over 500 inhabitants from the municipalities of Alingss and Vrgrda, as well as local officials and partners, attended the inauguration. Additionally, the wind farm’s construction has provided the local inhabitants with a diverse outdoor experience.
In June 2023, Ilmatar announced plans to build a 350 MW solar power plant in Vermland County’s Grums municipality in central Sweden. The company had secured a 50-year leasing deal with landowners in Grums so that the solar plant, one of the largest in the country, can be built on 300-400 hectares of leased property.
