Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited (SWREL) announced that it has bagged an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) order to establish a 300 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project. The company has secured the contract from NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL). The project will be situated at Khavda park in Gujarat.
According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work under the project includes designing, engineering, producing, supplying, packing and forwarding, transporting, deploying, testing, commissioning, as well as solar modules supply. The project is expected to cost Rs 15.35 billion which includes three-year operations and maintenance. The project is expected to commence work from the end of third quarter or from the start of the fourth quarter of 2023. Furthermore, the project has been scheduled to be commissioned within the following 12-18 months. The formal contract signing is anticipated to take place soon.
In August 2023, SWREL announced that it had received a letter of award to build a 600 MW AC (750 MW DC) solar PV project at Khavda, Gujarat.
In the same month, SWREL bagged orders worth Rs 8.26 billion in the first four months of financial year 2023-24. The aggregate capacity of the projects is around 1 GW, which would be set up in Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.
