RUMSL floats bids for 750 MW wind-solar hybrid projects

Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL) has issued a request for proposals (RfPs) for setting up 750 MW wind-solar hybrid power projects. The projects will be located in Madhya Pradesh and set up on the basis of build, own, and operate model.

According to the tender guidelines, the bidders are required to submit Rs 1.1 million per MW of the quoted capacity as a bid security. The developers must furnish Rs 2.75 million per MW of the allotted capacity as a performance bank guarantee. The bidders can offer a minimum and maximum capacity of 10 MW and 375 MW, respectively. The bid submission deadline is November 17, 2023.

The hybrid power project’s solar and wind components can be set up either in the same location or in different locations. Any component’s rated power capacity must be a minimum of 33 per cent of the total contractual capacity. Furthermore, the Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company network must be compatible with the hybrid power projects’ interconnection requirements. The developers will be in charge of establishing connectivity to the closest substation and long-term open access for the duration of the 25-year power purchase agreement. Additionally, foreign companies are permitted to take part in the tender as a consortium member or on a standalone basis. The capacity utilisation factor for the hybrid project cannot be lower than 30 per cent during any of the contract years.

In August 2023, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, Hinduja Renewables Energy, and SJVN Green Energy Limited have been announced for RUMSL’s auction to develop 300 MW, Phase II floating solar park at Omkareshwar reservoir, Madhya Pradesh.

In May 2023, RUMSL issued RfPs to allot sites for a total of 13.8 GW of pumped hydro storage development in Madhya Pradesh.
