CERC approves tariff of Rs 3.26 per kWh for 15 MW floating project

The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has granted approval to a tariff of Rs 3.26 per kWh for a grid-connected 15 MW floating solar project, connected with inter-state transmission system of Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB). The project is situated in the Nangal Pond of Himachal Pradesh.

A power purchase agreement (PPA) has already been signed between BBMB and SJVN Green Energy for allocating power to BBMB’s partner states which includes Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Union territory of Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Haryana and nominated companies.

Recently, in September 2023, the CERC granted approval to a tariff of Rs 2.53 per kWh for the purchase of power from Solar Energy Corporation of India’s 1,170 MW of wind-solar hybrid power projects, tranche-V, connected with inter-state transmission system.

In August 2023, Powergrid Khavda II-C Transmission Limited announced that it got approval from the CERC to evacuate power from 4.5 GW of renewable energy projects at Gujarat’s Khavda pooling station, phase-II, part C.
