Suzlon bags contract for 29.4 MW wind project

Suzlon Group has secured a contract for setting up 29.4 MW wind capacity. This project is a part of Bright Night’s 100 MW wind-solar hybrid project.  Suzlon will deploy 14 units of S120-140-meter wind turbines, including a hybrid lattice tabular tower, having 2.1 MW rated capacity each. The project will be situated at Osmanabad, Maharashtra.

According to the tender guidelines, Suzlon will be responsible for delivery, installing, and commissioning of the project, besides providing comprehensive operations and maintenance services post‐commissioning. Furthermore, the plant will supply power to commercial and industrial users in the state. Additionally, the project will supply power to 50,000 households, reducing carbon emissions by 2.5 lakh tonnes annually. The project will be completed in phases, starting in April 2024.

Every Suzlon wind turbine is produced in the country and contains between 80 per cent and 90 per cent local content, demonstrating its commitment to the goal of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Suzlon turbines are equipped with the time tested doubly fed induction generator technology, which connects wind turbines into the utility network to satisfy grid needs.

In August 2023, Suzlon Group announced that it acquired a large contract for its 3 MW series of wind turbines from Teq Green Power XI Private Limited. For the 201.6 MW wind power project, Suzlon will deploy 64 of its largest wind turbine generators, each with a 3.15 MW rated capacity and a hybrid lattice tubular tower.

In July 2023, Suzlon Group announced a new order win for the development of a 47.6 MW wind power project for KP Group at Vagra in Bharuch district of Gujarat. Suzlon will supply their S133 wind turbines and supervise execution and commissioning of the project
