SJVN issues tender for 1.5 GW wind-solar hybrid projects

SJVN Limited has issued a request for proposals for developers to set up inter-state transmission system connected 1,500 MW wind-solar hybrid projects in India. According to the tender guidelines, bidders are required to furnish Rs 1.2 million per MW as an earnest money deposit. The bidder should offer a project capacity of at least 50 MW or more.  The developer is required to submit a performance bank guarantee amounting to Rs 3.06 million per MW of the total contract value. Furthermore, the contracted capacity quoted should be in multiples of 10 MW. The bid submission deadline is November 7, 2023.

Additionally, under the tender, only wind-turbine models issued by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, listed in Revised list of Models and Manufacturers will be allowed.  Furthermore, SJVN Limited has mandated the use of indigenously manufactured solar modules listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers. Only modules mentioned in List-I are allowed to be used in this project.

In July 2023, SJVN Limited allocated five hydro-electric projects in Arunachal Pradesh. The five projects were as follows: Attunli – 980 MW, Amulin – 420 MW, Etalin – 3,097 MW, and Mihumdom – 400 MW which are located on Dibang River tributaries with a combined generation capacity of 5,097 MW.

In the same month, SJVN Limited announced the signing of power purchase agreements (PPAs) for 300 MW of renewable energy projects. SJVN Green Energy inked a PPA with the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited for 200 MW of solar projects, and another with Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited for 100 MW of wind power.
