Edelweiss Alternatives introduces its first climate fund

Edelweiss Alternatives has introduced its first climate fund in an effort to combat climate change and promote sustainable development.  This fund is dedicated to supporting India’s goal of becoming a carbon-neutral economy and to bolstering initiatives to mitigate the adverse impacts of climate change on the environment.

The company’s climate fund will invest in a wide range of climate-related projects, from climate mitigation to adaptation, including renewable energy, transmission infrastructure, EV infrastructure, green infrastructure, water treatment, transport decarbonisation, industrial decarbonisation, and any other related verticals, in accordance with the G-20’s commitment to mobilise financial resources in climate-related projects. The fund would provide investors with a long-term feasible investment instrument to engage in the world’s most promising markets for the transition to sustainable energy and produce more valuable and consistent returns.

The company has officially become a signatory to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment as part of its commitment to integrate environment social governance factors and promoting responsible and environmentally conscious investing methods into the investment decision-making process.

In November 2022, Edelweiss Real Assets Managers Limited announced the successful close of AnZen India Energy Yield Plus Trust, its maiden energy infrastructure investment trust.
