NTPC Group achieves installed capacity of 73,824 MW

The installed capacity of the NTPC Group has reached 73,824 MW. This accomplishment follows completion of Telangana’s first unit of 800 MW super thermal power project trial operation on September 5, 2023. This success strengthens NTPC’s dedication to provide the country with affordable and reliable power. With this, NTPC Limited and the NTPC Group’s installed capacities have increased to 57838 MW and 73824 MW, respectively.

The company is further committed to reach 60,000 MW of renewable energy capacity by 2032. NTPC Limited meets one-fourth of the country’s energy needs. Recently, in September 2023, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited issued a request for proposals to supply crystalline bifacial solar modules of cumulative capacity 1,584.6 MW, having wattage output of at least 540 Wp each for 1,255 MW of projects. The projects would be set up at the Khavda solar park in Kutch district, Gujarat.

In the same month, NTPC Limited signed a MoU with Oil India Limited to investigate collaboration in green hydrogen and its derivatives, renewable energy, geothermal, and decarbonisation initiatives.
