TPREL signs agreement with Chalet Hotels Limited to set up 6 MW AC group captive plant

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power, has signed a power supply agreement with Chalet Hotels Limited, an asset manager, developer, owner, operator of hotels, resorts across India, for a group captive plant with a capacity of 6 MW AC.

As per the notification, the facility will produce 13.75 million units of clean power, reducing carbon emissions by 9,762 tonnes annually. This project will help the companies in achieving a cleaner future for the hospitality industry. With the capacity addition of this project, TPREL’s total renewable capacity reaches 7,821 MW. This includes capacity of 3,689 MW and 4,132 MW under various stages of implementation and under operation, respectively.

Recently, in September 2023, TP Alpha Limited signed a power supply agreement with Sanyo Special Steel Manufacturing India for a captive solar plant with a capacity of 28.125 MW AC (39.375 MWp DC). The facility will be located in Aachegaon, Solapur district of Maharashtra.

Earlier in the same month, TPREL signed power purchase agreements for a 200 MW and 150 MW solar project with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited. The projects are situated in Maharashtra.
