NLC India Limited (NLCIL) has issued request for proposal (RfP) to purchase solar modules of 70.5 MW capacity for a project set up on the mined-out land in Neyveli (Mine-II area), Tamil Nadu.
The scope of work under the project includes production, delivery, packaging, forwarding, and supplying solar photovoltaic (PV) crystalline modules to the mine including its transit insurance. According to the notification, bidders are required to submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 10.6 million. The developer must submit performance bank guarantee equaling 10 per cent of the total contract value. The bid submission deadline is September 29, 2023. Furthermore, to be eligible, the bidder should have supplied cells or solar PV modules of capacity 10 MW or higher, of which minimum one order should be more than 5 MW or more.
Recently in August 2023, NLCIL issued a RfP to seek a consultant for setting up a 600 MW solar power project. The project would be located in the solar park of Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited, Phase II, at Khavda, Gujarat.
In the same month, NLCIL signed a long-term power usage agreement with Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Limited to supply 300 MW of solar power. The project is currently under construction and is located at Barsingsar, in the Bikaner district of Rajasthan.
