NLC India to supply 300 MW solar power to RUVNL

NLC India Limited, a coal mining company under the Ministry of Coal, has announced to supply 300 MW of solar power to Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (RUVNL). The company has already signed long-term power usage agreement with RUVNL. The project is currently under construction. It is located at Barsingsar in the Bikaner district, Rajasthan.

The capacity of 300 MW is a part of 510 MW PV project awarded to NLC India by Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) under second phase of central public sector undertaking scheme, tranche III. The project was won under tariff-based competitive bidding. Tata Power Solar Systems won the EPC order for the project.

Recently, in August 2023, results have been declared for RUVNL’s auction to develop 1,200 MW of solar projects with minimum six hours delivery from energy storage systems during peak demand. BluPine Energy and ACME have emerged as winners. The projects can be developed anywhere in India.

In April 2023, NLC India requested proposals for the development of 200 MW of interstate transmission system connected solar projects across India. The project must be completed within 15 months after the award letter’s date.
