The current generic rate of Rs 4.64 per kWh for 2023–2024 for solar projects assigned under the Mukhyamantri Saur Swarojgar Yojna (MSSY) programme has been extended by the Uttarakhand Electricity Regulatory Commission (UERC) for three years, till March 31, 2026. According to the notification, the tariff will be applicable for the commissioning year after the end of these three years.
The MSSY programme plans to allot 10,000 small solar projects with 20 kW or 25 kW capacities. Till March 2023, 150 solar power projects totalling 20 kW or 25 kW, having a combined capacity of approximately 3.5 MW have been successfully constructed and commissioned.
In May 2023, UERC announced the scheduled commissioning of the generic tariff for solar, grid-interactive rooftop, small solar, and solar thermal projects for the fiscal year 2022-23. The commission approved Rs 9.08 million per MW and Rs 13.7 per kWh as the benchmark capital cost for solar and solar thermal projects.
