Sterling and Wilson bags solar projects worth Rs 11.3 billion

Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited (SWREL) announced that it has received a letter of award to build a 600 MW AC (750 MW DC) solar photovoltaic (PV) project at Khavda, Gujarat. The company has secured the project from Gujarat Industries Power Company Limited. The project comprises of two blocks, each with capacity of 300 MW AC.

According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work under the project includes designing, engineering, supplying, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning. The developer is also required to look after operations and maintenance (O&M) for three years. The total bid value including O&M is Rs 11.3 billion.

Recently, in August 2023, SWREL bagged orders worth Rs 8.26 billion in the first four months of financial year 2024. The aggregate capacity of the projects is around 1 GW. The projects will be set up in Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.

In April 2023, SWREL won three new rural electrification projects worth Rs 10.8 billion. It obtained these turnkey projects through the distribution sector revamped reforms-based and results-linked scheme.
