AmpIn Energy and JCAPCPL collaborates for 2.8 MWp solar project

Ampln Energy announced that it inked a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Jamshedpur Continuous Annealing and Processing Company Private Limited (JCAPCPL), a joint venture between Tata Steel Limited and Nippon Steel Corporation. According to the notification, Ampln Energy Transition will supply 2.8 MWp solar power for its Jamshepur plant.

Furthermore, AmpIn Energy will set up solar panels for JCAPCPL with a capacity of 2.8 MWp. The produced solar power would help in reducing company’s carbon footprint.

In June 2023, AmpIn Energy secured investments up to $250 million from Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation of Japan, Intermediate Capital Group, and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank to fund the growth of the company.

In May 2023, AmpIn Energy bagged Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation Limited 150 MW wind-solar hybrid auction at a tariff of Rs 3.07 per unit. The contracted capacity of the project will be 150 MW and would require a 250 MWp of wind and solar capacity installation. The project shall be connected to the ISTS network.
