Hinduja bags 80 MW floating solar project in Madhya Pradesh

Hinduja Renewables has bagged Omkareshwar floating solar project of capacity 80 MW in Madhya Pradesh. The company won the second phase of the project at a tariff of Rs 3.89 per kWh. The company has been awarded the capacity through an auction held by Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited. The project is receiving investment from Asian Development Bank for providing infrastructure support.

With a total installed capacity of 600 MW, the Omkareshwar floating solar project is anticipated to be the largest single-location floating solar park in the world upon completion. The project is being built in two phases, each of 300 MW at Omkareshwar Reservoir in the Khandwa district.

With numerous projects being under construction in various regions of the country, Hinduja Renewables has already reached GW scale capacity. It is actively looking for potential in the energy storage and green hydrogen sectors to supplement its multi-GW renewable energy portfolio that is planned for the future.

In January 2023, Hinduja Renewables, Sprng Energy, IB Vogt, and Blupine Energy won the Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited auction to deliver power from 500 MW of grid-connected solar power projects (Tranche XVIII), with an additional 500 MW greenshoe option.
