PVH bags L&T’s 805 MW solar trackers contract

PV Hardware (PVH), a Spain-based global manufacturer and supplier of solar trackers, has announced the signing of a contract with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) for the supply of 805 MW (DC) capacity of solar trackers. The PV project will be situated in the Qassim province near Ar Rass city, Saudi Arabia.

As part of the strategic efforts for Saudi Vision 2030, the project will be a part of the National Renewable Energy Programme and will be managed by the Ministry of Energy, Industry, and Mineral Resources (MEIM) of the Kingdom. Furthermore, all the trackers required for the Ar Rass solar project will be purchased from PVH’s recently renovated manufacturing facility in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The trackers will have a lifespan of 25 years. Additionally, the project will power around 132,000 homes, reducing carbon emissions by 1.5 million tonnes annually. PVH has a global market share of more than 10 per cent and has already deployed 28 GW of PV trackers across five continents.

In February 2023, PVH announced plans to construct the world’s largest solar tracker factory in Valencia, Spain. The Spanish solar tracker manufacturer had acquired a plot of land spanning an area of more than 6 hectares as a location for the project.
