Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited, an engineering, procurement, and construction firm in India, has bagged orders worth Rs 8.26 billion in the first four months of financial year 2024. The aggregate capacity of the projects is around 1 GW. The projects will be set up in Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. The scope of work under the project includes design, construction and commissioning. The projects are expected to create many construction jobs which will benefit the local community.
In April 2023, Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy won three new rural electrification projects worth Rs 10.8 billion. It obtained these turnkey projects through the distribution sector revamped reforms-based and results-linked scheme. The initiatives attempt to build distribution infrastructure in the electric supply circle and the projects will take time of 30 months for completion.
In March 2023, Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy had been awarded a balance-of-systems (BoS) package for 1.2 GW of solar projects in Gujarat. The package includes four 300 MW (AC) blocks in NTPC Renewable Energy’s proposed 1.2 GW solar PV project at the Khavda renewable energy park in Rann of Kutch.
In August 2022, Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy won the bid for the BoS package of the proposed 1,255 MW of solar power projects being developed by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited at the Khavda renewable park in Gujarat’s Kutch region.
