RECPDCL floats 100 MW tender for wind projects

REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, has issued request for proposal to set up 100 MW inter-state transmission system connected wind power projects in India. The projects were won under tariff-based competitive bidding process. The projects will be developed on the basis of build, own, operate model, under the scheme for flexibility in generation and scheduling of thermal or hydro power stations by bundling with renewable energy and storage power proposal. The bid submission deadline is August 25, 2023.

Recently, in August 2023, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, received a letter of intent for a 550 MW solar project. The project is a part of a 1,250 MW inter-state transmission system connected solar tender awarded by RECPDCL at a tariff of Rs 2.56 per kWh. The tender was issued in December 2022.

In September 2021, RECPDCL floated two tenders for transmission systems to evacuate a total of 3,500 MW of renewable power in the Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh, and the Gadag district of Karnataka. The first tender was for the development of a transmission system in Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh, to evacuate 2,500 MW of power from renewable energy projects. The second tender was for the development of a transmission system in Gadag, Karnataka, to evacuate 1,000 MW of power from renewable energy projects.
