JAKEDA floats tender for 5 MW rooftop solar projects in J&K

The Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA) has called for bids to commission 5 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems under the Jammu Smart City Mission. The projects will be developed on rooftops of government buildings in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K). The range of projects can vary from, 1 MW capacity between 3 kW and 10 kW, a total of 3 MW capacity between 10 kW and100 kW, and 1 MW capacity between 100 kW and 500 kW.

According to the tender guidelines, the bidders are required to submit Rs 2 million as an earnest money deposit. Additionally, bidders should have an experience of five years in commissioning projects for public sector undertakings, government organisations or the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s sponsored programmes of 2 MW capacity of offgrid solar or grid-connected rooftop projects.

Further, the successful bidder will be required to look after operations and maintenance of the project for a period of five years. The developer must serve a security guarantee equal to 5 per cent of contract value.  The bid submission deadline is August 8, 2023.

Recently, in July 2023, JAKEDA issued a request for proposals to commission 1.75 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems on state government buildings. The chosen developer should also be in charge of the project’s operations and maintenance for the next five years.

In the same month, JAKEDA called for bids to build and commission 200 MW of grid-connected residential rooftop solar systems under Jammu Solar City Mission.
