The Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy & Infrastructure Technology Limited (MAHAPREIT) has issued a request for proposals (RfP) for setting up grid-connected solar PV projects of 50 MW. The project will be located in the Sangli district (Kundalpur, TisangiRajuri, and Ghatnandre villages) of Maharashtra.
According to the tender guidelines, the scope of the work under the project includes designing, engineering, supplying, erection and commissioning of 50 MW of grid-connected solar projects, along with a switchyard and power evacuation system up to the state transmission utility sub-station. In addition, the bidders must look after operations and maintenance of projects for five years. The bidders are also required to submit Rs 450,000 as an earnest money deposit. Furthermore, the developer must serve a security guarantee equal to 3 per cent of contract value. The successful bidder must complete the project within 380 days from the date of letter of award. The bid submission deadline is August 21, 2023.
In May 2023, Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) and MAHAPREIT announced a partnership to build 1 GW of solar power in Maharashtra. According to the notification, GEAPP and MAHAPREIT will partner to install 500 MW of rooftop solar for small and medium enterprises and 500 MW of ground-mounted decentralised solar under the PM KUSUM programme.
In January 2023, MAHAPREIT floated bids to appoint consultants to establish 10 MW of distributed solar power projects under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana. The contract will be valid for two years.
