Gadag II-A Transmission, a subsidiary of ReNew Transmission Ventures announced that it got approval from the Ministry of Power (MoP) to develop overhead transmission lines for solar projects totalling 1,500 MW in Gadag, Karnataka. The approval has been given for a period of 25 years for setting up the overhead lines.
A 400 kV DC transmission line between two pooling stations (Gadag and Koppal) has been covered under the programme. In the districts of Gadag and Koppal, the transmission lines will travel through 55 villages. The company requires an approval of railways, local bodies, state highways and national highways for the construction of lines..
Recently, in July 2023, SJVN Limited’s proposal for overhead transmission lines for its 1,000 MW solar power project in Bikaner, Rajasthan, was accepted by the MoP.
