North Central Railways floats bids for rooftop solar projects in Uttar Pradesh

North Central Railways has requested bids for state-by-state empanelment of agencies to develop grid-connected rooftop solar power projects with a capacity of 5.525 MW at its various divisions and workshops. The projects will be executed through a public-private partnership and on a design, build, finance, operate, and transfer basis.

According to the tender guidelines,within 240 days of receiving the work order, the projects must be commissioned. In addition, the developers must provide full operation and maintenance services for a period of 25 years. Bidders must provide a deposit of Rs 1.07 million per MW of quoted capacity. Within 30 days of signing the power purchase agreement (PPA), the shortlisted bidders must submit a performance security of Rs 1.6 million per MW and a bid process administration charge of Rs 75,000 per MW of the allowed capacity.

The projects will be established across Agra (865 kW), Jhansi (3.422 MW), Coach Mid Life Rehabilitation workshop (300 kW), Rail Coach Naveenikaran Karkhana (800 kW), and Prayagraj (138 kW) divisions/workshops. The deadline for bid submission is August 4, 2023.

In June 2023, South East Central Railway requested proposals for the state by state empanelment of agencies to develop grid-connected rooftop solar projects totaling 2.185 MW at various locations in the Raipur Division through public-private partnership and on a design, build, finance, operate, and transfer basis.
