SJVN bags PPAs for 200 MW of solar and 100 MW of wind power projects

SJVN Limited announced the signing of power purchase agreements (PPAs) for 300 MW of renewable energy projects. SJVN Green Energy inked a PPA with the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for 200 MW of solar projects, and another with Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) for 100 MW of wind power.

The 100 MW wind power project has an estimated development cost of Rs 7.50 billion. SJVN Green Energy won it in an e-reverse auction for Rs 2.90 per kWh on a build-own-operate basis. The project is scheduled to be completed in March 2025.

The 200 MW ground-mounted solar project in Maharashtra will be developed by SJVN Green Energy at a cost of around Rs 12 billion. It won the project through competitive bidding in an e-reverse auction hosted by MSEDCL at a tariff of Rs 2.90 per kWh. The project is scheduled to be completed in December 2024.

In July 2023, SJVN Green Limited requested bids for the balance of system (BOS) package for two grid-connected solar power projects in Gujarat with a total capacity of 360 MW. The winning bidder must also be responsible for the project’s operation and maintenance for three years.
