Fourth Partner Energy commissions wind-solar hybrid project in Gujarat

Fourth Partner Energy announced that it has commissioned a 70 MW wind-solar facility in Gujarat’s Gondal city. According to the developer, the 70 MW hybrid project will provide clean energy to its corporate clients in New Delhi and Hyderabad at costs that are 25-35 per cent lower than grid tariffs. As per the notification, Filatex, Linde, Nexus Malls, and Deccan Chemicals are among the off-takers.

Fourth Partner Energy reported that the project was completed in 10 months. The plant is expected to create about 163 million units of clean energy per year. GE supplied and installed 14 wind turbines for the project.Fourth Partner Energy is supplying 10.8 MW of electricity to Filatex, a polyester yarn manufacturer through this project.

Aseem Infrastructure Finance provided funding for the hybrid plant. Fourth Partner Energy has installed 1.3 GW of solar and wind assets, with a 3 GW portfolio planned for India and Southeast Asia by 2025.

In June 2023, First Energy Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Thermax Limited, commissioned a 45.80 MW wind-solar hybrid captive power plant in the state of Gujarat, India. The facility has an installed capacity of 24.3 MW of wind energy and 21.50 MW of solar energy. The plant is estimated to reduce 111,700 tonnes of carbon equivalent per year.
