Tata Power bags smart metering project in Chhattisgarh

Tata Power notified that it has received a Letter of Award (LOA) from the Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited (CSPDCL) to set up a smart metering project in the Raipur area of Chhattisgarh.

The project scope comprises smart metre design, delivery, installation, and commissioning, as well as smart metre operation and maintenance at the consumer and distribution transformer levels.

Tata Power won the project through CSPDCL’s tender for three packages covering various areas. It took part in the second package and won the project. The project is about Rs 17.44 billion and will take ten years to complete. The project, which will be carried out under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme, is projected to reduce aggregate technical and commercial losses in the allocated area while increasing revenue collection for CSPDCL.

In June 2023,Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company Limited, commissioned a 110 MW solar power project in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The project will supply 110 MW of green power to the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB). The project is expected to generate approximately 211 MUs and reduce a 2,58,257 MT carbon footprint annually.
