HPCL floats bids for consultancy tender for solar projects in Andhra Pradesh

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) has solicited proposals to select a project management consultant for the installation of 100 MW of solar projects for captive use at the Galiveedu Solar Park in Andhra Pradesh. The engineering and project management consultant will be hired to oversee the solar park’s design, engineering, procurement, supply, erection, and commissioning. They must also supervise the installation of transmission lines from the generation site to the yet-to-be-identified injection substation. As per the tender guidelines,the bidders will be asked to submit Rs 1.98 million as an earnest money deposit. The contract will be valid for a period of 18 months from the date of the letter of intent’s issuing and will cover all stages of the project.

The consultant should plan, initiate, guide, coordinate, supervise, and control all project implementation activities through a dedicated task force composed of project specialists and experts in areas such as engineering design, purchase, inspection, construction, and commissioning. The consultant shall recommend the installation capacity of the solar power project in the chosen location based on the available land area and appropriate technology assessment.The deadline for proposal submissions is July 18, 2023.

In May 2023, HPCL requested proposals from contractors to establish two solar projects totaling 3.6 MW in the Karnataka towns of Yediyur and Hiriyur. The company has issued two tenders for capacities of 1.7 MW and 1.9 MW. According to the tender guidelines, the bidders must submit Rs 2.5 million as an earnest money deposit for each project. Additionally, successful bidders will be required to provide a performance bank guarantee equal to 10 per cent of the total order value for each project.

In the same month, HPCL requested bids for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of two grid-connected ground-mounted solar power projects in Delhi. Under the group or virtual net-metering strategy, the projects include a 4.2 MW solar project in Pitampura for Tata Power and a 5 MW solar project in Moti Nagar for BSES Rajdhani.
