SJVN Limited has issued an invitation for bids to choose renewable developers for the supply of 1,500 MW of power from interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected renewable energy projects with energy storage capacities throughout India. According to the tender guidelines, the projects need to be created using a build-own-operate model. Each project will require a bid processing fee of Rs 1.5 million plus 18 per cent GST from the bidders as well as an earnest money deposit of Rs 1.226 million per MW of the specified capacity.
Before signing the power purchase agreement (PPA), the selected bidder must provide a sum equivalent to Rs 3.065 million per MW of the permitted capacity as a performance bank guarantee. The winning bidder and SJVN will sign a PPA that will last for 25 years. The amount of power that can be given by the bidder ranges from 50 MW to 750 MW. For projects in northeastern and special category states, the bidder must deliver a minimum contracted capacity of 30 MW. The deadline for submission of bids is July 20, 2023.
In June 2023, SJVN Green Energy Limited won a 200 MW wind power project worth Rs 14 billion in a tariff-based competitive auction held by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). According to a BSE filing, SJVN Green Energy would create this wind power facility anywhere in India under an engineering, procurement and construction contract. The Power Sale Agreement (PSA) will be signed after the SECI issues the letter of intent.
Also, in the same month, SJVN Green Energy Limited issued a request for proposals to produce and supply 140.4 MWp of solar modules for the Pojewal and Rurki Chandpur solar power plants in Nawashahar, Punjab. According to the tender guidelines, the modules must be delivered within four months of the work order being received. Additionally, bidders must submit an earnest money deposit equivalent to the quoted module capacity.
