Larsen & Toubro (L&T) declared that it has received ‘significant’ orders for its power transmission and distribution business in India and internationally ranging from Rs 10 billion to Rs 25 billion. L&T stated in a regulatory filing that it has received two orders for the improvement of electrical networks in significant industrial locations in the Middle East. These orders are for the construction of gas-insulated substations and high-voltage cable systems. Power transformers and control and protection systems will also be installed as part of the project, according to the statement.
In May 2023, L&T announced the formation of L&T Green Energy Council, a think-tank composed of eminent thought leaders, in a significant step towards building a global green energy business.The council will be responsible for identifying technology trends in green energy, analysing the evolving global policy developments, evaluate emerging business models and advise on collaborations.
