BHEL awards Jayram Industries for O&M of its 65 MW solar project

Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has awarded Hyderabad-based Jayram Industries India Private Limited (JIIPL) a 19-month contract to operate and maintain (O&M) a 65 MW solar power project in Neyveli, Tamil Nadu. BHEL issued a tender for the project, which is owned by NLC India in May 2023.

According to the tender, JIIPL is responsible for erecting and commissioning all equipment and auxiliaries in accordance with the sequence and methodology provided by BHEL, depending on the technical requirements. It also stated that if JIIPL fails to maintain the required work progress, resulting in a delay in completion, BHEL will have the right to impose liquidated damages at the rate of 0.5 per cent of the contract value per week of delay or part thereof, up to a maximum of 10 per cent of the contract value.

In May 2023, BHEL requested bids for the operation and maintenance of a 65 MW solar power facility in Tamil Nadu for NLC India for a period of 19 months. According to the tender guidelines, the bidders must provide Rs 786,800 as an earnest money deposit. Also, as a performance security, the bidder must provide an amount equal to 5 per cent of the total contract value.
