Serentica Renewables secures Rs 100 billion partner contracts for renewable energy projects

Serentica Renewables, a renewable energy platform enabling industrial decarbonisation, announced the successful placement of contracts worth Rs 100 billion for its planned renewable energy projects. This announcement provided a significant boost to the country’s renewable energy sector. The agreements made with top suppliers of renewable energy solutions would allow Serentica to build 1.5 GW of renewable energy capacity in the country.

Serentica is setting up solar and wind capacities across the states of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and Rajasthan where it has secured connectivity to the inter-state transmission system. For its wind projects coming up in Maharashtra and Karnataka, Serentica has tied up with leading wind players like Suzlon, Siemens Gamesa, and Envision while the modules for its solar projects in Rajasthan and Maharashtra will be supplied by global solar leaders like Jinko Solar and Trina Solar. The engineering, procurement and construction for the projects will be executed by Suzlon, Sterling & Wilson, Amara Raja Power Systems, EverRenew, and Rays Power. The projects are scheduled to be commissioned by the financial year 2024-25.

In May 2023, Sterlite Copper partnered with Serentica Renewables India announced its plans to develop a captive hybrid renewable energy project to supply 16 MW of green power to its Silvassa Unit. To establish the hybrid renewable energy project, Sterlite Copper and Serentica Renewables India would incorporate a special purpose vehicle (SPV). A power delivery agreement for the facility was signed by the two companies.
