Tata Power commissions 110 MW solar power project for KSEB

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company Limited has commissioned a 110 MW solar power project in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The project will supply 110 MW of green power to the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB). The project is expected to generate approximately 211 MUs and reduce a 2,58,257 MT carbon footprint annually.

The project has used 2,59,272 mono bifacial PERC half-cell modules. Reportedly, in spite of the various challenges such as tough land topography, extreme weather conditions, temperatures touching 50 plus degrees, the coldest of winters and sandstorms, along with adverse geopolitical challenges, the project was completed within a stipulated period of 7 months. Furthermore, the project is considered one of the fastest commissioned projects in Rajasthan, backed by a skilled team, cutting-edge technology, and experienced leadership.

In May 2023, TPREL subsidiary TP Saurya Limited inked a 25 year power purchase agreement with Tata Power Trading Co. for its 200 MW AC solar project in Rajasthan. It is estimated to supply 485 million units of energy annually once operational. The facility is scheduled to be operational by March 2024. The PV project in Bikaner would be developed by TP Saurya and would be connected to the central transmission utility bus.
