HPCL floats bids for 3.6 MW of solar projects in Karnataka

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) has requested proposals from contractors to establish two solar projects totaling 3.6 MW in the Karnataka towns of Yediyur and Hiriyur. The company has issued two tenders for capacities of 1.7 MW and 1.9 MW. According to the tender guidelines, the bidders must submit Rs 2.5 million as an earnest money deposit for each project. Additionally, successful bidders will be required to provide a performance bank guarantee equal to 10 per cent of the total order value for each project.

Recently, HPCL requested bids for the engineering, procurement, and construction of two grid-connected ground-mounted solar power projects in Delhi. Under the group or virtual net-metering strategy, the projects include a 4.2 MW solar project in Pitampura for Tata Power and a 5 MW solar project in Moti Nagar for BSES Rajdhani.

Also, in January 2023, NTPC Green Energy Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HPCL for development of renewable energy based power projects to tap business opportunities in renewable energy. The MoU intends to supply 400 MW round the clock renewable power to cater to the requirements of HPCL.
