Eastern Railway floats bids for 1 MW of rooftop solar systems

Eastern Railway’s Sealdah division has requested proposals for the design, delivery, installation, and commissioning of a 1 MW rooftop solar system. According to the tender guidelines, the minimum installed capacity of the solar system will be 10 kW. The project’s anticipated cost is Rs 35.49 million. Additionally, the project must be completed within 12 months after receiving the award letter. The bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 327,400.

The winning bidder must meet a minimum guaranteed generation of 15 per cent capacity utilisation factor. The company should guarantee that the solar modules will be free of flaws and failures for at least five years from the date of commissioning. The solar modules used in the project must be from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers. The deadline for proposal submissions is June 12, 2023.

In March 2023, South Eastern Railway floated bids for empanelment of agencies to implement rooftop solar projects totaling 2.3447 MW in Odisha and 1.4738 MW in Jharkhand. According to the tender guidelines, the developers must provide comprehensive operation and maintenance services for a period of 25 years.

In January 2023, Eastern Railways issued a request for proposals to install 1.9 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems across multiple sites in West Bengal’s Sealdah division. The scope of work entails conducting a survey, designing, fabricating, supplying, installing, testing, and commissioning 38 units of 50 kW grid-connected rooftop solar systems for three-phase 50 kW power with voltage ranging from 200V to 1,000V.
