JREDA seeks consultants for survey on floating solar project

Jharkhand Renewable Energy Development Agency (JREDA) is seeking consultants to execute a bathymetry survey and soil test report for a 600 MW floating solar power project at Chandil Dam in Jharkhand.The survey’s goals include determining bed contours, identifying obstructions, assessing soil and rock composition, and gathering data on water levels, flow velocity, and silt. The project is expected to cost Rs 20 million.

According to the tender guidelines, the bidders must provide Rs 400,000 as an earnest money deposit. The successful bidder must submit a security deposit of 10 per cent of the total work order value within 15 days of the work order being issued. The scope of work involves conducting a detailed bathymetric and hydrographic survey in preparation for the development of a floating solar installation. The deadline for bid submission is May 22, 2023. 

In March 2023,Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) floated bids to establish a 100 MW (AC) floating solar photovoltaic project at Getalsud Dam in Jharkhand’s Ranchi district. The contractor’s scope of work includes floating solar project’s design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning, as well as ten years of plant operation and maintenance. The project will take 18 months to complete including commissioning after the contract is awarded.

Also, in February 2023, the Damodar Valley Corporation requested bids from the engineering, procurement, and construction firms to commission an 8 MW ground-mounted solar power project in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, along with associated systems such as the power evacuation system. According to the tender guidelines, contractors must also provide comprehensive operations and maintenance services for five years.
