The Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation (TCMPF) has requested bids for a five-year open access arrangement to acquire 30 MW of solar, wind, or excess power from producers.The TCMPF is made up of 25 district cooperative milk producer unions. According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work comprises purchase of solar and wind electricity, as well as surplus power from producers, for metro dairies, one product dairy, one dairy-cum-powder mill at Ammapalayam, Madurai ice cream plant, and other outlets.
Additionally, the bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 100,000. The tender is projected to be worth Rs 1.752 billion. The power supply should begin three months following the purchase order. The contracted energy per year is 43.8 GWh, with a five-year term. Any bidder with a minimum capacity of 5 MW is eligible to participate in the tender and must supply at least 4,000 units per day.The deadline for submitting proposals online is June 8, 2023.
In December 2022, the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund Limited (NIIFL) and Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Development Board (TNIDB) signed a memorandum of understanding. The collaboration will assist in attracting commercial capital for renewable energy infrastructure in Tamil Nadu. Additionally, TNIDB will receive assistance from NIIFL to identify potential private-sector investment opportunities such as asset recycling and the development of greenfield and brownfield infrastructure projects in a variety of sectors including renewable energy.
