K P Energy inaugurates 29 MW wind energy project in Gujarat

K P Energy Limited announced the commissioning of a 29.4 MW wind energy project in Gujarat. The capacity is a part of the 250.8 MW inter state transmission system (ISTS) connected wind power project capacity awarded by Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited under Tranche-VIII bidding.

Additionally, in continuation of the phase-I at Sidhpur, KP Energy successfully commissioned 29.4 MW (phase-II) ISTS connected wind power project comprising 14 numbers of wind turbine generators of 2.1 MW each at Sidhpur site in Devbhoomi Dwarka.

In November 2022, Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL) reported the installation of India’s largest wind turbine generator in Mundra, Gujarat. The wind turbine stands 200 metres tall and can generate about 5.2 MW of electricity and can be used to power approximately 4,000 homes. According to the company’s statement, the turbine is taller than the world’s tallest statue, Statue of Unity, that has a height of 182 metres.
