BHEL issues O&M tender for solar project in Tamil Nadu

Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has requested bids for the operation and maintenance of a 65 MW solar power facility in Tamil Nadu for NLC India for a period of 19 months. According to the tender guidelines, the bidders must provide Rs 786,800 as an earnest money deposit. Also, as a performance security, the bidder must provide an amount equal to 5 per cent of the total contract value.

The contractor should install and commission all equipment and auxiliaries in the sequence and technique stipulated by BHEL, depending on the technical requirements.Furthermore, BHEL has specified that before quoting for the tender, bidders must visit the site and analyse the job content, available facilities, materials, and prevailing site conditions, including the law and order situation, applicable wage structure, and wage standards. If the contractor fails to maintain the required work progress, resulting in a delay in completion, BHEL has the right to impose liquidated damages at the rate of 0.5 per cent of the contract value per week of delay or part thereof, up to a maximum of 10 per cent of the contract value.The deadline for proposal submissions is May 16, 2023.

In February 2023, BHEL requested bids for the one-year operations and maintenance (O&M) of 12.5 MW of solar projects installed at its Trichy, Tamil Nadu, facility. According to the tender guidelines, the vendor should hire maintenance personnel to perform solar panel cleaning, vegetation removal, outer yard HT maintenance, and transformer oil filtration for a year for the 5 MW and 7.5 MW solar projects.
