Results for Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam’s (RUVNL) auction to supply 1 GW of power from state transmission utility (STU)-connected solar power projects in the state have been announced. Mahindra Susten, Sunfree Energy (SAEL), Solarcraft Power India (Blupine Energy), Jakson, Shiva Corporation, Avaada Energy, and SJVN emerged as the winners for the auction. Mahindra Susten and SAEL each received a capacity of 200 MW at a quoted tariff of Rs 2.61per kWh. Shiva Corporation obtained 50 MW at a rate of Rs 2.61 per kWh. SJVN won 100 MW of the 300 MW stated capacity using the bucket-filling method, quoting Rs 2.62 per kWh. Avaada Energy was awarded 200 MW at Rs 2.62 per kWh. Blupine Energy is alloted 150 MW at Rs 2.61 per kWh, while Jakson received 100 MW at Rs 2.61 per kWh.
The tender was announced in January 2023. According to the tender guidelines, the projects must be financially secure within a year of signing the power purchase agreement and operational within 18 months. The solar project should be constructed to link to the solar park’s pooling substation through a specialised cable at a voltage level of 33 kV. The project developers will bear the cost of transmission from the project to the interconnection point, as well as wheeling costs and losses. The modules utilised in the project must be from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers.
In March 2023, RUVNL issued a request for proposals for the construction of solar power projects totaling 1,200 MW anywhere in India with a committed supply from an energy storage system for at least six hours during peak demand periods.
